Born Pearl Elizabeth Dobbins, knockout Liz Renay's personal life often overshadowed her film career. She became a showgirl and, later, a stripper after running away from home in the 1940s. In the 1950s, Renay made an effort toward acting and landed a starring role in Date with Death (1959; with Gerald Mohr and Robert Clarke) and was considered for other big roles. But when she was sentenced to three years in Terminal Island Prison after refusing to fink on her lover, mobster Mickey Cohen, her hopes for screen stardom vanished. However, after her release from prision, Renay published her famous autobiography My Face for the World to See (1971) and found work as an actress in low-budget films.

Negli anni Sessanta torna di moda l'acconciatura detta Bouffant , caratterizzata da un rigonfiamento monumentale del volume della chioma , generato con l'aiuto di quantita' industriali di lacca spray per capelli . Originariamente era una pettinatura tradizionale del XVIII secolo in Europa occidentale , probabilmente inventata per Maria Antoinetta, che aveva capelli relativamente sottili e desiderava generare l'illusione di averli molto pieni.
La deliziosa attrice statunitense Pamela Tiffin con piu' criniera che stoffa... Viene ricordata da molti italiani per la sua interpretazione più memorabile nel ruolo di Marisa Di Giovanni nel film di Dino Risi " Straziami, ma di baci saziami " con Nino Manfredi e Ugo Tognazzi.

La modella ed attrice tedesca Uschi Obermeier e' considerata un sex-symbol ed un'icona di cio' che viene chiamata la "1968 generation" . E' stata una protagonista dei movimenti di protesta studenteschi in Germania.

Questa ragazzina dall'aria selvaggiamente teutonica , che si tiene ben stretta quanto ha di meglio, si chiama Elke Scheltz e diventera' famosa negli anni seguenti col nome di Elke Sommer . Da notare la sobrieta' del trucco e della pettinatura piuttosto in voga nel 1963. Anche se oggi appare anacronistico trovo ancora affascinante questo modo di acconciarsi...
